Among the first batch of China excellent tourism city, there are three famous scenic spots in Jinan’s city card, which are the Qianfo Mountain, Baotu Spring, and Daming Lake.  

Qianfo Mountain

 

       Qianfo Mountain stands in the south of the city proper and was called Mount Lishan in the old times. From 581 to 600 A.C., Buddhism was in trend and thousands of stone Buddhist sculptures were engraved on the mountain. From then on, it took the name of Qianfo Mountain. Main peak of the mountain is 280m above sea level. There are many big stones, temples, pavilions, and terraces dotted on the mountain.

 

Baotu Spring

 
 
       Baotu Spring is the best one among the 72 famous springs in Jinan, which is regarded as “the first spring under heaven”. The spring water spurts out in three prongs, with water droplets falling around, just like three piles of snow, which is very spectacular. The spring water is very sweet, optimum for making tea, which is limpid in color, rich in aroma.

 

Daming Lake

 

       Daming Lake, where all springs flow together, is one of the biggest lakes in Jinan. It is located at the center of Jinan’s urban area. In 13 century, the Italian traveler, Mark Polo marveled here as "what a beautiful landscape of lake and rocks." In the center of the lake perches the Lixia Pavilion, upon which hangs the name scroll written by a famous ancient emperor Qianlong.
